The Concept

Love Not War is an anti-war slogan commonly associated with the magical and mystical 60’s and 70’s era. It was a youth slogan that demonstrated the resistance youth had to the Vietnam War and symbolized freedom, enthusiasm, creativity and positivity. It was an era where youth were expressing themselves freely through several art forms and many argue that it was the peak era for Music.

Love Not War is also the motto for Brooke’s Brand new campaign. Youth nowadays are part of a technological age where everyone is in a position to influence each other and has access to social media etc. It is also an era where the real war is on the streets with bullying, violence and youth crime, reaching a climax in recent years. The Love Not War Campaign is a pro-active approach that Brooke, 17, has developed to influence the youth to develop habits that promote love, positivity and creativity. It aims to be a positive revolution that gives youth the inspiration to inspire their dreams and focus on their future.

What?

The Love Not War campaign was developed out of a natural response to young people confiding in Brooke via Facebook regarding their dreams, desires and ambitions. Brooke realized that a lot of young people faced serious issues such as: bullying, peer pressure, low self-esteem and lack of vision for their future. The "Love Not war" tour is a direct answer to all the young people that Brooke comes across and so far the testimonials have been very encouraging indeed! Brooke, together with a team of fans and her management came up with a concept to help offer some encouragement and support through the story of her musical journey. A song was written for her to express the core values of friendship, love and positivity against the odds!

"Love Not War" is a strong youthful anthem, flying the flag for a youth culture that is not dominated by the stereotypes normally associated with news reports today: drugs, violence and crime etc... But elevates a youth culture constructed on key values that will help young people think carefully about the daily choices in life that ultimately map out their tomorrows. Brooke initiated the original concept herself and its fantastic to finally see it come to fruition with a little help from her fans!

Why?

Brooke’s goal and dream since a young age was that she would be able to use her music to inspire positivity to young people. After, she moved to the UK, she immediately realized that the only way she could get closer and understand UK youth was to visit their schools and try to inspire people her age, through her story and music.

What Brooke and her Team found out was that: around 85% of the children she personally interviewed in her workshops didn’t know what they wanted to be, had no clear direction in life and thus had set no goals for themselves. The result is that they had no proper purpose and focus. People who have no clear direction and purpose tend to be easily carried away by bad currents that might eventually lead to….lack of self-esteem, bullying, violence and youth crime.

The goal of the Love Not War campaign is to highlight the importance of creating some kind of direction, focus and aims in life. The campaign will also help attendants face challenges and overcome them. In fact, Brooke discusses issues like setting goals, achieving results, time management and dealing with failure.

Who is the Target Audience?

The Love Not War Campaign is aimed at two different age groups.

13-16 year olds

17-19 year olds.

For the different groups the message will essentially be the same yet the language, approach and detail will differ.

How?

The Love Not War campaign is something that all participants should really look forward to. It is fun, interactive and all participants will love every minute of it.

The participants should expect to be entertained as well as inspired. This will help participants absorb the content of the campaign better and ultimately achieve their own results. In fact, Brooke will entertain participants with 5-6 songs from her repertoire, all of which have a very positive message.

At the end of the workshop students will also be invited to share their talents in what is a confidence building activity that will showcase their talents and potentials in front of their peers.

What does the Love Not War Campaign hope to achieve?

The Love Not War campaign hopes to serve as an inspiring experience that will encourage youth to take a positive approach in life. It will inspire them to achieve their dreams and work hard for anything they aspire to be.

The Brookemusic team wishes to be in a position to be able to inspire thousands of youngsters from any area in the UK. The biggest joy and happiness for anyone in our team, is to see young people like the ones who already attended the workshop, tell us, that Brooke has helped give them a purpose in life and provoked a positive fruitful change. Yet, If we manage to change the life of just one young individual and possibly inspire him/her to be a true achiever, our aim will be reached.
